Reporter's Blog

While studying and completing projects, I have gotten a lot of great experience through reporting in the classroom. These blog posts represent some of the field work I have done over the past couple of months.

Blog Post #1 4/12
This clip is an extended version of the social media interview we did with Ginger Walker, the Director of Emergency Management at the University of Houston.

Blog post #2 4/14

This clip is from the interview done with U of H student, Zubby. This interview is what we based our Concept Exercise 1 off of.

Blog post #3 4/14

This is an extended interview clip from the podcast my team did for Concept Exercise 3.

Blog post #4 4/16

This is a photo I took during one of the classes this semester. The class was tasked with going around campus to shoot certain point of view shots. This was my example of the ground view shot.

Blog post #5 4/18

Reflection: I think my favorite concept exercise to comeplete was the social media video. It was a great first experience in how to set up an interview with someone in the school system. Me and Thomas worked hard on putting the footage together and communicated well on how to execute. I think this exercise will help me the most in my future career in journalism.

Blog post #6 4/19

This link is to some of the articles that best helped me comeplete my timeline for Concept exercise #4. I loved going through old archives and articles to find the right dates and information I needed for my interactive timeline.
